Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Lotswift ("Lotswift", "we", "us") makes a Chrome extension and online service that helps car dealerships list their vehicles on Facebook Marketplace. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Lotswift extension, our website at lotswift.com, and the Lotswift service.
The short version: we collect what's needed to list your dealership's cars and keep those listings accurate. We never read your Facebook messages, contacts or account details, we never store your Facebook password, and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your dealership's name and website address, and each salesperson's name as your dealership gives it to us. Each salesperson receives a personal access key. The key is stored in your Chrome browser; on our servers we keep only a scrambled (hashed) version that can't be turned back into the key.
- Vehicle inventory. Information about the vehicles your dealership offers for sale, such as VIN, year, make, model, trim, mileage, price, colors, features and photo links. We get it from your dealership's public website or an inventory feed your dealership provides.
- Listing activity. When a salesperson confirms a listing was published, updated or removed, we record which vehicle, which salesperson, the time and, when available, the link to the listing.
- Form-filling reports. After Lotswift fills a listing form, the extension reports which fields it filled or could not fill and the extension version, so we can fix problems when Marketplace changes its form. These reports do not include the contents of your Facebook pages.
- Technical information. Like most online services, our servers log requests to our service, including IP address and time, for security and troubleshooting.
- Contact. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
Information we do not collect
- Your Facebook password, messages, contacts, friends, or any information about buyers who contact you.
- Your browsing history. On Facebook, the extension only recognizes the Marketplace listing form and your Publish click; it doesn't read or send anything else from Facebook. Elsewhere it only reads your dealership's own website and downloads your vehicle photos.
- Payment card details through the extension.
How we use information
- To provide the service: show your inventory, fill Marketplace listing forms, and alert your team to sold cars and price changes.
- To write vehicle descriptions and, when a vehicle's colors are missing, identify them from its photos. For this, vehicle details and photos are processed by an AI service run on our behalf by Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock, using models from Anthropic).
- To show your dealership usage reports, such as how many vehicles were listed and by whom.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account and the service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Chrome extension permissions
- Side panel and storage: to show the Lotswift panel and keep your access key and settings on your computer.
- Facebook pages: to fill in the Marketplace listing form you open, and to notice when you click Publish so Lotswift can ask you to confirm.
- Your dealership's website and photo sites (when you allow it): to read your dealership's inventory and download vehicle photos into the listing.
Lotswift's use of information received through the Chrome extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run Lotswift, under contracts that protect it: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage and AI processing) and Cloudflare (website and email delivery). We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Inside your dealership, information is visible to your dealership's Lotswift users: for example, who posted a listing.
How long we keep information
- Vehicles: while they're in your inventory, and for 90 days after they sell.
- Listing activity and usage reports: up to two years.
- Server logs: about 30 days.
- Account information: while your dealership uses Lotswift. When a dealership leaves, we delete its data within 30 days of a request, except where we must keep it by law.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access keys are stored only in hashed form, each dealership's data is kept separate, and access to our systems is limited and protected with multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe an access key has been exposed, tell us and we'll disable it right away.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete information about you or your dealership by emailing hello@lotswift.com. You can stop using Lotswift at any time by removing the extension from Chrome, which also deletes the access key stored on your computer.
Children
Lotswift is a business tool for car dealerships. It isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as Lotswift changes. We'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let your dealership know.
